Networking

Reliable networking is the foundation of every modern animated holiday lighting display. Whether using Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or a combination of both, a properly designed network ensures that controllers receive lighting data accurately, reliably, and with minimal delay.

Modern displays range from a single Wi-Fi controller driving one prop to large installations containing dozens of controllers connected through wired and wireless networks. Understanding the basic networking concepts used by holiday lighting software makes designing, expanding, and troubleshooting a display much easier.
